A4U Scheme – Assistance for You

The A4U scheme was developed to provide financial support to organizations or youth groups.

The A4U scheme was developed to provide financial support to organizations or youth groups. The main objective behind this call for application is for Aġenzija Żgħażagħ to provide assistance to youth groups who wants to grow, develop their own goals and have the opportunity to actively participate in the community. Youth groups are invited to come up with initiatives aimed at strengthening and developing their goals, mission and identity. In this regard, among other things youth groups can present initiatives which aim to;

  1. Improve their facilities 
  2. Increase their resources 
  3. Develop training for current and prospective leaders

Financial assistance for each initiative can be granted up to a maximum of € 1,500. In order for an organization or youth group to be eligible to apply for this scheme, it must be registered with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and comply with the criteria set in the guidelines. Besides, organizations or youth groups must be offering a service to young people.

The proposals for this scheme are selected according to a number of criteria including;

  1. The impact of the initiative on the group itself and the community
  2. Full youth participation
  3. Innovation and creativity of the initiative
  4. Sustainability and continuation of the initiative

Be Active Scheme: Developing ideas together

The Be Active scheme is part of the Aġenzija Żgħażagħ’s grant aid to youth groups. The primary objective of this scheme is for Aġenzija Żgħażagħ to continue to help youth groups to learn, develop, plan, implement and evaluate initiatives. Be Active provides organizations or youth groups with financial assistance to develop projects and initiatives for those who use their services and the wider community.

Organisations and groups are invited to develop a project related to a number of priority topics. Youth groups are given support throughout the implementation of the initiative. However, the initiative must be designed and developed by the group itself. Financial assistance for each initiative is granted up to a maximum of €2,000. In order for an organization or youth group to be eligible to apply for this scheme, it must be registered with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and comply with the criteria set in the guidelines. Besides, organizations or youth groups must be offering a service to young people.

  • The impact of the initiative on the group itself and the community
  • Full youth participation
  • The innovation and creativity of the initiative

Music Tuition for Young People in Band Clubs

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ in collaboration with Band Clubs Association annually organise ‘It-Taħriġ Mużikali taż-Żgħażagħ fil-Każini tal-Banda’ scheme, as part of its Empowerment Programme. This scheme is managed by the agency through the Parliamentary Secretariat for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport.

Band Clubs in various localities around Malta and Gozo provide young people with the opportunity to learn and develop their musical skills. The main aim behind this scheme is to provide financial assistance to local Band Clubs to come up with initiatives and proposals which encourage young people to learn how to play a musical instrument and/or improve the learning services that are already being provided. They can also come up with sustainable and innovative initiatives to develop and /or upgrade their current teaching facilities and services.

The chosen proposals must meet the following criteria; they must directly reflect the aim of this scheme, they must be clear and written in a logical manner, the initiatives must be innovative and creative, a realistic plan of the intended initiative must be presented, the initiatives must be sustainable and continuous and the budget proposed must be realistic and reflect the music tuition.

The Band Clubs may choose from two categories of financial assistance; category A – which has an allocation of maximum €2,000 per initiative and category B – which has an allocation of maximum of €4,000 per initiative.
