ACHIEVERS SCHEME

 GENERAL INFORMATION about ACHIEVERS

1. INTRODUCTION

Achievers is a funding initiative being launched by the Parliamentary Secretary for Equality and Reforms within the Ministry for Justice, Equality and Governance and is aimed towards Voluntary Organisations.

1.1. AIM

Whilst the Government embraces a harm-reduction approach, when it comes to the cannabis reform it still believes that young people need to be informed and educated about addictive substance use and misuse.

As a result, a scheme has been developed with the aim of engaging young people to design and implement community-based interventions and initiatives to prevent or delay the onset of substance misuse.

The initiative will call on young people to propose projects which would at least have one of the following objectives:

  • to enhance young people’s awareness and understanding of the harmful social and health effects of addictive substances; and
  • to contribute to healthier and safer communities by improving the wellbeing of young people.

2. BUDGET ALLOCATION

The scheme has a financial allocation of €81,000 and the maximum budget allocated to each initiative is of €3,000.

3. WHEN TO APPLY

Deadline of submission of e-application is noon, 22nd September 2020.
